Vanessa
I started swimming competitively at the age of six and served as team captain of my high school swim team. I am a certified lifeguard and also have my CPR certification. I began working for Making Waves in the summer of 2005 when I was a sophomore in college. Attending school out of state, I enjoyed spending my summer breaks teaching lessons.
Recently graduating with a degree in psychology, I am excited to be spending more time providing swim instruction. In the fall, I will be attending graduate school at Rutgers where I plan to pursue a master’s degree in social work. Along with my passion for helping others, I have a strong interest in teaching. I hope the knowledge I acquire from teaching children and adults how to swim can help prepare me for one day becoming a college professor. While I enjoy teaching both beginner and advanced levels, my specialization is in improving stroke techniques. It is my pleasure to assist your child or yourself in learning important swim skills that will last a lifetime!
