Lindsay
I have been swimming for as long as I can remember and have always had a love for the water. In high school I joined my school’s swim team and made varsity my freshman year. The summer of my freshman year of high school, I trained and became certified as a Lifeguard. As soon as I turned 16 I applied for a Lifeguard job at my local YMCA and have been working there as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor ever since.
Not only have I had a passion for swimming but I have a passion for teaching as well. I am currently attending Rider University majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology with a minor in Special Education. I find it very rewarding and inspiring to help students acquire skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
During my years as a swim instructor, I have had the pleasure in teaching many students from infants to adults. I have also taught large classes to private lessons. Working with swimmers one on one in private lessons though is where I found the most improvement. I believe that safety is the most important part of swimming and being around water. As an instructor at Making Waves, I will pass on my knowledge of water safety skills and swimming techniques to all eager swimmers while making lessons fun and enjoyable! I am looking forward to working with all of my students and I hope to inspire them as swimmers as much as they will inspire me!
