Jessica
I joined Making Waves because of my desire to teach all aspects of
swimming. I've been on a competitive swim team since the age of three,
where I began kickboarding. Shortly after I was swimming to win races in
the Gloucester County Championship and place second in the Tri-County
Championship meets. I now currently dive on my college team, and am
beginning to swim on the first club swim team at school.
I am a nursing major at The College of New Jersey. Besides
participating in swimming and diving, I have volunteered at the Rock Brook
School for multiple disabled students, and work at the bookstore and as a
college ambassador. When I was younger I gave lessons of both technique
for advanced swimmers as well as beginner lessons for those who are new to
the water. I was a lifeguard for three years at various summer pools, and
have constantly surrounded myself with water and swimming. Swimming is
healthy and fun, but I begin with safety as the first priority!
