Elizabeth
Swimming has been a large part of my life for many years. After several years of swim lessons, I joined a swim team club that competed during the summer months. Upon entering high school, I was granted a spot on the women’s swim team of West Windsor Plainsboro High School South and received my first Varsity letter for my freshman year. I helped the Lady Pirates (as the team likes to call themselves) win first place in the county, then the CVC division, and then competed in the state finals for 3 of my 4 years in high school. During my senior year, the Lady Pirates claimed the title “State Champions” after winning the final state championship meet. Although I have graduated high school and I’m currently a full-time student at Muhlenberg College, I continue to support my high school team by attending as many events as possible.
As a swimmer, I am experienced in all four of the competitive strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. During my time on a varsity swim team, my main events were the 200 yard freestyle, the 500 yard freestyle, and the 200 yard and 400 yard freestyle relays. Through my years of swim lessons and Red Cross certification courses, I also gained experience in sidestroke and elementary backstroke as well.
I have been a certified lifeguard and swim instructor since 2006. I enjoy teaching all ages, and all levels of experience. My goal is to share with my students how rewarding swimming can be, whether it is just getting comfortable in the water, practicing basic strokes, or improving technique for a competitive team.
Swimming has been a large part of my life, and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with all of my students.
