Growing up, swimming in a pool was the ultimate joy for me. My parents used to tell me that I was a "little fish" they practically had to drag me out of the water. Looking back at those times now, I never realized the significance growing up in that atmosphere would have on me now, and in fact- not all that much has changed. I still have an extreme love for the water.
I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for the past 5 years. I have taught large swimming classes over the years as well as private lessons and it is my personal opinion that private lessons produce the strongest result. My personal experiences growing up have allowed me to understand the needs of the client. I understand that learning to swim is not as easy as it looks and I remember my struggles when learning. But over the years, I have been told that I have a lot of patience and determination. I AM determined to get my clients to see an improvement in their swimming skills using all different types of methods- whatever it takes! Together we will accomplish our set goal regardless of what that may be.
When I am not teaching swimming I am a full time student majoring in civil engineering with hopes of eventually receiving a masters in architecture. During the summer I enjoy lifeguarding, and the time spent outdoors. I enjoy going to the beach and snowboarding when the weather permits. I also like to paint, and I have painted several murals which are presented in a few public locations.
I hope from the bottom of my heart that I make learning to swim for you or your child one of the most paramount experiences in life.
