Coleen Wilhere
I started my competitive swimming and diving career at the age of eight. I graduated from the university of Wisconsin-LaCrosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical education and a coaching concentration. In college, I swam sprints in the butterfly and freestyle and earned All-American status. I swam at the local YMCA-YWCA and became the state champion in the 100 yard butterfly. After high school, I started my teaching and coaching career at the local community pool. My passion for sports led me to pursue a teaching degree. I love encouraging others, no matter what age or ability, to become a better individual. Seeing a child run up to their parents and hearing him or her say, “Look what I can do!” puts a smile on my face. I love seeing a student accomplish their goal(s), whether small or large. I am a patient instructor and a motivator and I’m always encouraging my students .
