When I was 8 years-old, my parents surprised me by signing me up for the Warrington Swim Team. The next 8 summers were devoted to swim practices and meets, as well as a new group of friends, which only added to my love of swimming. Once in high school, I moved away from competitive swimming and began working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Coming from a large family with plenty of little cousins, I understood that making swimming fun for the students was the key to successful and exciting lessons! I continued to work at the YMCA, along with several other swim clubs/gyms for about 7 years, through high school and during my breaks in college. As a junior in college, I studied abroad for a year in Bologna, Italy and continued to work with children as an English tutor for 3 girls. This experience gave me a lot of insight into how to communicate and explain ideas and instructions to various different learners.

I am excited to work for Making Waves Swim School, because I love having the opportunity to make swimming fun and meaningful for everyone. I have been able to keep swimming in my life by teaching swimming lessons and I hope that I can help my students develop a love for swimming, too!
