Amy V .
I started swimming before I started walking. I remember crawling around in a small pool in our backyard before the swim club was built down the street. After that, most of my time in the summer was spent there. I started out swimming “just for fun” but when old enough to take the test for the ‘big kid pool’ realized I had no problem swimming freestyle and backstroke at all.
I was on the swim team in High School for 2 years, and my favorite events were the 500 free and 50 fly. In college, I swam those events, plus the 1000 free and 100 fly. I also took the Lifeguard training course and the American Red Cross WSI course. I have been guarding and teaching swimmers since then!
I enjoy working with people of all ages, abilities and abilities when it comes to swimming, and I hope to continue teaching for many years to come!
